Canon 1DS MKIII
Phase One have told me and others that the 4 is a light version.
The 4 have support for Canon 1 DS MKIII, but the 4 is not for PRO users.
The only PRO program Capture One have is 3.7.
They tell us to wait for the 4 PRO version. I have a job to do, customers to serve.
I can not wait for the 4 PRO. I need the 3.7 to work with the 1 DS MKIII to day!
I feel like some others in this forum that professional photographers don't get the service they should.

3.7 will actually process 1D Mark III images with the only hitch being a 1 or 2 pixel static line on the bottom or right side long end of the image. The does not happen if you crop within C1. Or you can write a Photoshop action to remove the 2 pixel line.

Rob, he's asking about the 1Ds, not the 1D ... also, the black line is not the 'only hitch' with the 1D M III, the exposure is off, underexposed by about 1.2 stops. 0 -

Sorry about that, I missed the S.
I haven't notices any issue with exposure. The problem I do have is the noise reduction is very aggressive. I had real high hopes for v4 in regards to real support for the Mark III but the current release leaves me wanting.
Here's hoping PO hears all the complaints and does something about them.

Kai,
I'd say Not to Wait.
There is nothing stopping you from working with your New Camera and no reason to wait for PRO version.
Not for Pro users ? ...There are plenty of professional studios with Professional Photographers who may be offended... since they've been doing quite well with the LE version, and will certainly continue to do well with Capture One 4
Not sure what service you want, maybe the Color Editor or tethered capture, CMYK output...
1 - the 1Ds Mark III is supported in 4, the process algorithm will be the exact same as the forthcoming PRO version - so you can get the best image quality from your New Camera
2 - No Tethered support - this is PRO only feature. You Can tether using Canon software that came with camera operating in the background.
3- No Color Editor - there are enough tools and capabilities within the program to get the exact color you're after.
Unless of course you need CMYK, this is a problem, and I'm still trying to figure a workaround for this. ( DNG > CMYK ? or Camera Profile and convert using another program ... maybe )

I see the opposite, every image shot with the 1D Mark III is underexposed by more than one stop when converted with Capture One, but ok with Photoshop.
Here is a test I ran this morning with front and back sides of a gray card (18 and 90% reflectance) ... Photoshop gets it right, Capture One converts it too dark. I don't see this with my 1Ds or 1D Mark II's or the two consumer cameras, only with the M III so I think the profile is wrong, but hopefully someone will tell me the magic settings and this will go away 😊

Thank you for the answer Keith Carpenter.
The big problem is that my work flow has to be change when i am working on the 4.
On the 4 its so hard to check thousand of pictures for sharpness.
First i check the sharpness, in the 4 i have to enlarge the picture in 100%
In the 3.7 you can choose a small part of the picture.
In the 4 when i want to check the next picture, i have to click on the zoom tool to get the next images to fit on the screen. Then i have to enlarge the hole picture, to check the sharpnes.
So the work flow is not perfect in my eyes.
In the 3.7 it was just to click on the part off the image that you wanted to check, was it sharp fine. If not i just hit the delete.
In the 4 you cant delete the images when you look at in 100%
That was the reason to check the images, if its not sharp i want to delete it!
So this is just the part of my work flow that goes on checking the sharpness of my images.
I can write a lot more about the next level in my work flow, there is a lot of problems there to.
Best regards
Kai Jensen0
