Capture One 2021 - today's software download anomalies

I went through the preorder instructions, entering PREORDER2020 at payment time.
These are anomalies I found:
a) I did the download and received version 13.1.3.9 AGAIN - because I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. I also had to disable previous license of version and enter the new one that came with the download of today's version with the same build number 13.1.3.9.
b) i also downloaded all the styles I purchases a couple of weeks ago
c) Your sales blurb indicated I would receive a 20% discount on the list price of $299.00, which I did not see on my receipt which charged my credit card $317.69
Don't you test these sales offers before you make a big splashy advertisement. This is PRGGRAMMING 101 - NEW FEATURES AND ADVERTISING GET TESTED BEFORE RELEASING TO THE WIDE, WIDE WORLD. DO YOUR JOBS PROPERLY OR GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS OF SOFTWARE SALES.
THE BITTERNESS OF POOR PERFORMANCE IS LONG REMEMBERED AFTER THE SHINEY NEW STUFF IS RELEASED.....

I haven't tried this yet, but pre-ordering means that there won't be anything to download until the new version is released. You're just getting a discount if you pay for it in advance.

With the issues I'm having with C1 I find the pricing absurd, I realize they were bought up and it seems its all about the money. I will not be upgrading and am researching another option. C1 has become too buggy for me

It is a pity that the information in the FAQ was not "in my face" before attempting the "upgrade enablement" because then I would not have wandered down the path I took.
How can the steps I took be undone, especially the financial hit?

Unfortunately C1 has not taken care of its existing users. To ask for this much money for an upgrade is crazy, I can see them pricing themselves out of the range of semi pro and amature photoghers. I will be checking DXO and LR which I have never used. I have been using C1 for at 10 years.

How can I "undo" the download steps I took in error today? My sole intent was to get onto the "list" of users who are pre-paying the the upgrade to v 2021 in advance. but the large print ORDER NOW and DOWNLOAD did not supply me with the information from Mr. Rudiak. So I have ended up with a $317.69 (tax included) charged to my credit card instead of the $239.20 (plus tax) I was expecting. How can my overpayment be adjusted daily?

Yeah, I'm absolutely perplexed by this "upgrade" decision. To me this just doesn't add up considering there's annual subscription model alongside a perpetual licence. You should be able to reasonably expect that "upgrading" to the latest version and buying the licence is going to get you at least between two and three years between major updates before they charge you full price for the next version. Certainly didn't think I would be shelling out for an update of this nature so soon. Can only think that this decision has been made recently and is only related to cashflow considering they've announced zero features and expecting you to pay more in a discounted "upgrade" than you did for the original licence itself. Honestly the worst product launch I've ever seen of a professional product. Take care of your customers C1.

Try chargeback from your bank. If you paid with Paypal, you can apply for a refund.

Last year they actually did the same and some people had the same comments as now. As for me, I’m happy to pre-order with a 20% discount. It’s not like anyone is actually forcing you to pre-order, but I made that same argument last year and it did nothing to avail the discussion so I don’t have any hopes this year.
I had no problems with the whole process. Chose the correct upgrade path, entered the discount code and got charged somewhere in the region of €135 instead of €169.
I do however find the upgrade price prohibitively high. It used to be somewhere in the region of €/$69 per year. Right now I find myself tempted to switch to Lr as you get Ps in the same package, for more or less the same amount as pre-ordering the C1 upgrade...

The same thing has happened to me. I paid for the 2021, and when i did the download, i received version 13.1.3.9 again. i had to deactivated my old subscription, and i used the new one to activate, otherwise, it would let me work with capture one. Now what? i don't know what to do.

The price for the update is absolutely ridiculous. Although I love C1, I decided not to buy any new upgrades of C1, but instead purchased the LR / PS: I now have a powerful raw editor, plus PHOTOSHOP FOR FREE, compared to the Capture One offer.

Hey Jerry I totally agree I have been paying for the LR/PS just to use the PS now with this very expensive upgrade to C! I will not be signing up. C1 has gotten greedy and not fixed the bugs they have
