I would add this to the feature request section.

Thank you Mark, that's probably a better idea hahahaha.

In the past Capture one has had a policy of not supporting direct competitors to Phase One products, so no Hasselblad support for instance.  That policy seems to have changed somewhat as Phase One go larger than 645 format. With CO now supporting the Fuji GFX you might be in luck if you can find enough people to support your request and so justify CO investing a not insignificant amount of effort into supporting the 645z.

Hi Dave, that's actually a great idea! I've just posted on the Pentax forum where I know this issue has been discussed many times. I am hoping we get enough requests like you said so maybe it would be able to use our cameras with it. Would hate to have to stop using C1 :-(.

    Thank you!!!

    Hello,

I´m also another Pentax 645z user that is disappointed with CaptureOne. After selling the GFX50R to buy a brand new 645z, only after I realized that I can ´t edit the files in C1. Having just renewed license, I felt a little cheated for having spent the money and not being able to use my software of choice. The strange and revolting thing is to know that Fuji is supported, incomprehensible.

After searching on a few forums, I realized that this is an old complaint, and I think is time to C1 finally release the support, showing a sign of care to the clients.

    Another 646Z user here.

I had two licenses of CP1, when I purchased my first license, CP1 did read pentax files from 645Z DNGs. This was reverted with the last updates of version 8 which kind of felt like a betrayal. I am also using Fuji cameras but do not want to bother using two different sofwares (one for each camera) so I am waiting for some commercial sens from Phase One before jumping back. I am currently using Photoshop's ACR or Affinity Photo in combination with PhotoMechanic for culling and doing all the library things when this is necessary. I invite GFX shooters who have issues with their cameras loosing value or simply dieing will consider 645Z, I have been to extrem places with it and it's not a hypster's leather strapped camera, It is a workhorse with a mirror compartment that protects the sensor when switching lenses. In the hopes that more pentax users come forward. Good day !

Phase One please add support of Pentax 645z to C1. We all know that there is a way to open 645z DNG files in C1 anyway, so you just make you clients nervous.

    Thanks in advance!

Nope, still nothing. Most likely will never happen. Just go for Adobe, Lightroom has some amazing features right now anyway and they accept just cameras unlike C1. I've personally given up on C1 and won't look back, the 645z is an amazing camera and Adobe gives you all the tools to use it anyway. Plus we're all probably paying for Photoshop anyway. Bye bye C1, see you never again 😘.

I have waited for 3 years (fixing camera name in DNG). But recently I decided to give up C1 and use LR.
