You are lucky, my iMac 19 (Big Sur with 13.1.4) takes slightly more the 39.5 seconds to go from pushing the button to first image on the screen:

    1. iMac with 2T SSD, Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB
    2. Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Core i5
    3. Processor Speed: 3.7 GHz
    4. Number of Processors: 1
    5. Total Number of Cores: 6
    6. L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
    7. L3 Cache: 9 MB
    8. Memory: 16 GB
    9. System Firmware Version: 1554.60.15.0.0

Could be the difference was due to the difference in the systems and the resources available. If so, it could be C1 actually takes advantage of additional resources or that all process are accelerated by them. I received a response to my inquiry with C1 Support, but unfortunately they did not respond to the question of how C1 and Big Sur might have speeded up selecting All Images. Previously, it took my iMac Pro about the same as yours to display my 60k+ images and for the beach all to stop spinning, which was a vast improvement over the many minutes it previously took on my 2009 Mac Pro.

Quite pleased with my basic M1 Mac mini, 39174 image catalogue opens in 19 seconds (time till resource hub window pops up, thumbnails filing right screen and picture on left screen).  Quite an improvement on my high spec Windows machine which takes about 6 minutes to open the same sized catalog
