    De-activate your Express license.

Once done restart C1 and you should be prompted to Activate. Use you new upgraded license activation code.

    That's great - thanks.

One thing though - How do I do that please.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, the software is great and easy to use but getting there to use it is pretty tricky - I would bet that a lot of potential customers will have been lost when they gave up trying.

    Aha! Found it.

Its under support/activating Capture One and also uner the Capture One Tab at Top left of the software screen or by using this link https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002467237-Deactivating-Capture-One

Thanks for your help - it all works now but as I said before they should make things like that easier to find.

For anyone else with finding this tread and having the same problem I would recommend a search in the support pages using the word "deactivate" as a good option.

Also one can get to the option from an existing running C1 session by open the Help drop down menu and selecting the "License..." option. In the window that appears there is a Deactivate button in the lower right corner (at the time of writing).

Also in that window is a "Help" button. Click that to get to the Support FAQ contents page. In the Quickstart section there is a link to a Deactivation guide. It may be necessary to open the full list of available documents to see the link.

Or simply log in to ones account and manage the activations through there. No requirement to have C1 running.

The process may seem a little forbidding at first meeting but it is actually quite simple once one has had an opportunity to go though it.

Thanks for adding to my comments to try to make it clearer for those coming behind.

All questions are easy if you know the answer but as you say "the process may seem a little forbidding" and indeed it is if you have never experienced this before.

A constructive criticism for the guys at Capture One would be to take a serious look at this.

After all, the more customers they have then the better it is for the subscribers and it is a great product.

One of the first lessons in sales is "Make it pleasant and incredibly easy for your customers to make their purchase".
