Perpetual license or subscription? And you're talking about using C1 20 activation on C1 20, right? You're not trying to use the same code for C1 21. Indeed, if you've licensed C1 21 you need to use THAT activation code now, not the old C1 20 one.

If perpetual, sign into your Capture One account and look at the license area. From there you can check how many activations your license has and deactivate some if needed.

It might work the same for subscriptions, but I don't know about those as I'm on perpetual licenses.

Yes a perpetual license of Capture One 20 and I use the C1 20 activation, nothing works sadly....

I have tried to activate my licence code for Capture One 20 now for twenty times, because I need it for work.

And don't know if there is a help desk for Capture One users..

Read my response carefully and follow the instructions. If that doesn't work, they try filing a Support Request.

You are limited to some number of activations.   You mention a new MacBook.  Have you reached your activation limit?  If so you must first deactivate Capture One for one of your other devices.  You can do that from within Capture One on one of the older devices or you can do it from the web site.   Deactivation instructions are here ==> https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002467237-Deactivating-Capture-One
