Did anyone watch the "Where we're at with the M1 chip" webcast on the 25th"

    Not quite, it will be like other M1 applications, universal in that the download contains both intel and   M1code.  With M1 machines you actually have the choice to run the M1 native code or the intel code under Rossetta2, though why you should want to do the latter I don’t know. With older Intel macs you can only run the intel code.

    That makes sense Dave - i may/probably have picked it up incorrectly.  I'll be tuning in to tomorrow's webcast and that may clear it up.

    At what point was Linux mentioned? I’d love Linux support, but I highly doubt we’ll ever see it. Universal refers to having Intel and M1 code in the same app binary - the same terminology was used with Mac apps during the PowerPC transition

    Well spotted Ivan!   I've looked again at the video and it is clear that what they mean by "Universal" is a single version that works on Intel and M1.
