Importing files into Capture One 20 via card reader

I think this is what you need -- I never import from memory card so am not 100% sure.

Open up Mac System Preferences and select Security & Privacy.  Open the Privacy tab.  Select Files and Folders.  Is Capture One listed as an app that has access to Removable Volumes?  If not you may need to add it.   You'll need to click on the Lock icon and enter your mac password before you can make changes.

    Marco,

I have checked and all appears to be as it should so no apparent changes required. I will check it out with my local Photogear staff.

    Cheers

    Marco,

I just experienced the same problem, your suggested fix worked for me.

    Thank you

    Paul,

Does the Mac recognise the card reader as a device irrespective of whether C1 sees the files?

The MAC Mini doesn’t recognise the card reader at all as the finder doesn’t list the card reader even when Capture One displays the Raw files after uploading !

I'm not a Mac user so may not be of much help but my Win 10 Notebook had a built in USB card reader and that shows us when a card is inserted. The Card, therefore, is the drive.

If I plug in my external 5 card type USB3 reader the 5 slots are recognised as independent drives even when no card(s) are present.

So slightly different in the way the connections are handled but either way I can see the content of the drives and C1 sees them too.

I would have thought that Mac's cannot be very different in their approach.

If I can find one of my older USB2 readers I might try that but I would expect the same result. In any case doing so probably does not shed any light in what you are seeing for the Mac.

Disclaimer first, I am new to macOS having bought a Mac mini at the beginning of the year, before that I was a Windows user back to version 3.1

    Anyway my observations

Insert a Lexus card reader into usb socket and nothing shows up in finder.

Insert a card into card reader and a drive called untitled appears with the folder DCIM selected.

This seems perfectly acceptable behaviour to me.
