Capture one 21 freezes

Have you tried the most recent version of the OS? How are you importing, from memory card in a card reader or memory card in camera or some other method? How big are your files? Are you using a USB 2 or USB 3 connection? And finally, Sessions or Catalog?
I don't have any issues importing images into a catalog running the latest Capture One on the latest macOS. I use an external USB 3 card reader and copy the contents of the card to my hard disk outside of Capture One for reasons. Once the image files are on my hard disk I use the Capture One import function. Import from is the folder where I copied the images. Import to is "Add to catalog" meaning leave the images where they are, just take note of them.
When importing from a memory card in the camera be aware that some cameras are quite slow. It may appear as if the program freezes. It's just taking a very long time to read copy the images from camera to computer.

If I understand you correctly, you've been restoring your Mac from Time Machine backups in order to try and fix the problem. If that's what you're doing, then it's not going to help because you just keep reinstalling the same environment that crashed.
Instead, try these ideas:
1. Completely uninstall C1 using the instructions here:
and then reinstall C1. If that doesn't work then:
2. Boot into Recovery Mode (holding Command-R when you restart the computer) and installing a fresh copy of macOS. and if that doesn't work:
3. Create a new Admin account (I call mine "Test") that has only whatever macOS puts in by default. No extra startup items or anything. If C1 works in that account, you'll know that there's an issue with one or more startup items or other things in your regular account.

Just another info: i am finally working with OS 10.15.7 and C1 20 without any problem like when I upgraded to C1 21
If you remove the activation key can I request a refund for this C1? Thank you your understanding and attention.0 -
Jean Paul,
This is primarily a User to User forum. Your last question is not a question that we, as Users, can answer.
For direct contact with Capture One people the best option is to use the "Submit a request" function, choose the department that you think can best resolve your specific request and then create a Support Case.
In your original post, were you importing new pictures to an existing (converted) catalog or to a new catalog?

When first troubles started(freezing) I had installed the C1 21 on my same OS system 10.15.7. It started to import pictures from a backup external disk. After few minutes C1 stopped working and I even could not close it from top left bar. I had to close from option cmd esc.

Me again. After few days working like a charm with C20 and MacOS 10.15.7 and importing several thousands of pictures on my external disk and one single catalog, I decided couple of minutes ago to make a new test with C21. How will I make people understand that it doesn't work on my iMac??? After importing few pictures it Freezes! Yes It Freezes. Now I give up and I will certainly return to LR after I left it for a while! Too bad. I am not going to change my iMac since it works perfectly.
