    From Capture One help after a quick search on DNG

    There are quite a lot links giving similar information which might partially answer your question

    @Dave R

    I have followed the links but none of them explain why a RAW IIQ file when converted in Capture One to a DNG file is seen as a tif in DROID.  A DNG file created in ACR from an 88mb IIQ file becomes 104mb but converting that same file in C1 to DNG it becomes 152mb. The file created by ACR is seen in DROID as a true DNG file but the one created by C1 is seen as a tif.

    These differences are very important when they will be included in a digital archive.

    DSAD,

    I would suggest it would be best to talk directly to Capture One Technical Support rather than wait for a User to User type of answer here.

    Use the "Submit a request" feature of the Community pages to create a Support Case with direct contact to people who should be able to provide a definitive answer.
