Delay in tether Capturing

It's for Mac and off your topic but there might be some suggestions here:
    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002381557gfx100s

eg, remove card from camera, only Fuji selected in C1 capture preferences, try different USB port/cable.

I am on Windows 10. I did try different ports and when I unplug and plug back in the very fist image triggers the camera immediately. After that there is a delay before it triggers the camera. The image comes in fine. It just delays the actual firing of the camera. I tried redoing the hardware acceleration setup, disabled usb suspended sleeping, different ports. I will try a different cable but this is the same cable I’ve had no issues with in the previous version of capture one. I rolled back versions and that helped a little. Still a delay but it’s like 5 seconds instead of 20 seconds. I really think it’s a bug

You definitely have both card slots empty?
Do you have another camera to try?

    Hi

I have the same problem as John and has tried the same things and nothing helps. Working on a brand new Dell with all the power I could get.

It is very bad when I work  on Fuji GFX 50 or 100. There I can only use USBc but when I work on Canon 1dx MACIII or R5 then I have to use USB3

Canon is getting better but Fuji is unstable. Sometimes it works from the computer but with longer and longer delay until I disconnects and connects again.

Mostly I can use the camera direct with no delay but some days it is the same as from the computer.

Just a thought here as I don't use tethering much and you may already have thought of this.

I recall a few times seeing some thing similar with erratic shutter activation response when experimenting and it turned out to be AF related.

On one occasion the lens was right on its minimum focus distance and the AF would hunt sometimes.

On another occasion the pre-flash ambient lighting, despite looking OK on screen because it was somewhat "boosted", was not adequate to allow focus on the subject at the desired point selected. As I recall it was a dark subject and using spot metering. As focus was not achieved readily the shot either never happened at all or just took a long time before the program decided focus had been achieved.

A simple test for such intervention would be to switch to manual focus and shoot anything (whether in focus or not) to see if the delays persist.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I have AF off and I have it in full manual mode when I tether.  I do commercial photography so I basically use it like an old school view camera when it comes to having all the fancy stuff turned off when I shoot.  No IS, No AF, Manual Exposure, etc..  If I fire from the camera or use a cable release the image comes up in a couple of seconds.  When I do it from the computer the first time is pretty fast and then it gets slower and slower.  It sometimes take 30 seconds to fire the camera, before anything even tries to come back to the computer.  I can fire from camera, not a big deal.  But for the price of the software I am quite annoyed.  Also it seems almost impossible to actually talk to someone at capture one.  They have insanely bad support and if someone knows a way around that it sure would be great.  I have an open ticket for a MONTH now.

Are anyone getting any help from CaptureOne with this problem? They totally ignore me and it is not getting better.

I finally got a reply from support noting that they are actually aware of this issue and are looking into it. They also said they have no time frame when it might be fixed. Just hope it’s sooner than later. At least they know it is an issue.

    Hi guys,

I kind of found a solution for myself, as I have exactly the same problem (GFX 100s + Windows 10)

I trigger the camera from the fuji app on my phone instead of the ctrl+K on my keyboard...

Pretty lame solution but works for me, super fast capture rate and low buffer time for the images to come.

It's not an actual solution but while they fix the real issue, it works !

    Best,

I also have this problem! I even sent my GFX100 for repair thinking it may be due to a camera port issue. But there was nothing wrong.

It is very annoying it does this, it also effects the live view, slowing it down to a point of unworkable.

As mentioned, only when shooting from within Capture One, not when triggering from the camera (or the fuji app i guess). Please, could capture one look into this asap, it is a very annoying issue and wasn't like this before, it has been like this for about (half) a year.

Not working in windows 10 and windows 11. Both Capture one 21 and 22.

    NEVER MIND

I just updated to the latest version of Capture One (5.2.1.9) and it seems to work properly again!

Only a short test, but seems to work.

This new update fixed it for me. Hopefully it will stay fixed this time.
