90% user collections lost

I have been running CO1 2 for a while. Before upgrading my computer I uninstalled CO1, upgraded the pc and then reinstalled CO1 21 and pointed it to the latest catalog file. I impoterd all the pictures but the fact is: I only recovered just a few user collections and 90% of them  has been lost. What do you suggest ?

    When you write "I imported all the pictures"  - what exactly did you do?

    Moving from V12 to V21 should, as far as I know, just mean opening the V12 catalog in V21.

    I would guess that it would be useful if all of the images are on line at the time but that really should not be a problem other than there would not be a possibility to verify that all the links in the old catalog still exist.

    If you undertook a different approach and, for example, created a new catalog for V21 and thin imported files to it the situation will be different.

    Presumably you still have the original V12 catalog (were there any images IN the catalog or were they all referenced?). So there should be a possibility to repeat the process and also compare the size of the 2 catalog files. That may give some indication about possible issues if the sizes are inexplicably very different size.

    I'm pretty sure it's necessary to upgrade the collection or session when you've originally created it with V12 and you want to open it with V21.
