Hi Robert,
Thank you for your feedback and loyalty to Capture One - we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your request to add support for Nikon Z9 RAW (NEF) High-Efficiency formats to our Product Management team.
Hopefully, your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board.

Yes, Please do so.

Yes, that would be very nice

Just ran into this last night trying to import some images. I support this too. Switching to lossless compressed for now as those are working well.

I have updated the programme to version 22 to work smoothly with the Z9. But NEF files give error messages. When do you expect to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot and have a nice day,

High efficiency * and high efficiency Raw files will certainly be (the most ?) largely used by the Z9 owners ! Personally I was very surprised this morning when C1 didn't accept to import my HE* files !

Hi everyone, Adobe Camera Raw reads and edits Nikon Z9 HE* RAW files, so that’s a workaround option until Capture One adds support for this file format. I didn’t try ACR for HE RAW format, but it may work as well. Nikon NX Studio also edits both formats, though to my eye ACR does a better job.

To the Capture One 22 Support Team:
I too would like Capture One 22 be updated to support HE* and HE NEF files from the Nikon Z9. Please make this change ASAP.
Regards,
Greg Stais

Bump for HE NEF files.

Hello, the problem of the NEF file has been known for a long time. I don't understand why it takes so long for the NEF file to be read into CaptureOne
Kind regards
Michael

Yes, please add support for Nikon Z9 RAW (NEF) High-Efficiency * and High-Efficiency please. Thank you.

All the above comments. Z9 is a flagship camera.

Yes. Please add support for Nikon Z9 RAW (NEF) High-Efficiency * and High-Efficiency.

++.
Please add support for Nikon Z9 RAW (NEF) High-Efficiency * and High-Efficiency.
5 -
Yes. Please support those file formats soon. Otherwise those formats are useless to me because I won’t be using Nikon software. C1 is far superior.

I would also like to see High-Efficiency* and High-Efficiency Raw added as a supported format as C1 is my main organizer, importer, and exporter. I prefer to avoid going through adobe first as it breaks my entire workflow.

HE* Raw is one of the selling points for this camera. It will be a complete game changer with tethering support. Large files, double the speed.
Wifi transfer of RAW is almost a viable tethering option.

Another request for Capture One to support the High Efficiency Raw file. As a sports shooter the smaller file size is extremely helpful for my workflow. Please add support for this file format to Capture One.

Please add HE* and HE support for the Z9 !!
4 -
Yes, please add support for HE* and HE for the Z9.
3 -
I although ask for HE* and HE support. Thanks!

Please can you let us know the deadline on this ? These RAW files are eating our cards, storage and bandwidth
5 -
Yes, please give us some idea of when we can expect it. If you do not plan on supporting it, then the format is basically dead to me as a C1 user since neither Adobe nor Nikon software fits into my workflow. They are far inferior to C1 and I would really like to take advantage of these new formats.

One thing that I don't see was mentioned but is a critical aspect of why we need support for the higher compression files is that the compression level of RAW files is directly correlated to how many continuous shots you can take before the buffer is full. Having to shoot lossless compressed significantly reduces the number of shots we can take.

Another aspect to consider is card & storage capacity and the time it takes to transfer that amount of data. I was assigned a basketball game this week. I shot about 1800 pics and was close to filling my 128gb card. Can I purchase more cards? Yes, but why should I have to spend $ and keep track of multiple cards when the hardware is already capable of smaller files? Those 1800 images made up about 96gb. Now I have to transfer, process and backup 96gb when if Capture One supported the other formats, I could save about 40% of that space and processing. Get on it!

Unlike some of the others posting, I am not giving up on High Efficiency * RAW files. I will simply use the software that best supports them and my workflow.
If the C1 team thinks I should switch to brand X, well, it is hard to argue with them on the matter. I can get good results with other software. I will not part so easily with my Z9.

I understand that phase one cannot release support on the first day for a third party camera (even for a flagship) It can take time, it can be Nikon not providing info or Ticoraw in this case.
The only thing that I would like is a time estimate on the matter, so I can plan accordingly on my side.
I'm currently shooting with 2 256 cards per body and i cannot cover a full day.If phase one does not support i need to buy 2 X 512 per body and these cards are pricey :)

Please add support for HE and HE* raw files--HE* will be my preferred format. I'm keeping an eye out solutions that support HE and HE*, too. I would very much prefer to continue using CaptureOne; and though I can be patient, I would like to know that you do intend to delivery HE and HE* support within the foreseeable future.

If social media influencers can get pre production cameras six months before release, I would think the major players in RAW developers could get a few examples of the new file format in the same timeframe.
While the intricacies of the format might limit a day 1 release, it seems like a timeline estimate is a reasonable request.

Hello, the Nikon Z9 has been on the market long enough and Phase One does not manage to transfer the other RAW formats to the new one. That's not the support I get from PhaseOne customers. When will there be a new update for the additional RAW formats HE and HE* - as I can see, many users are waiting for the new update.
Kind regardsMichael Leuschner
