Deleting Images
Hi, I have a 2013 MBP OS Big Sur. When deleting images from my CO cat. they are removed from the cat. but remain on my hard drive. They cannot be accessed from CO anymore, only by using finder. I have tried setting up new catalogs and the same thing happens. Also I have used both delete from disk and remove from cat with the same result. Any ideas please TIA

If you've deleted them, why would you then expect Capture One be able to access them?
Sorry, it's not clear what problem you're trying to fix...

The problem is CO thinks the image is deleted but it remains on the HD. This slowly fills up the HD with images I thought were deleted. When CO cannot read images it thinks are deleted I have to use other software such as Photolab to remove images from the HD which is a time consuming PIA.

Right click on any folder in the right menu structure and choose "Empty Catalog Trash" You get an option to remove from disc our just remove from the catalog.
Its definitely not very intuitive.

You may not be looking at the same image location as you once told Capture One to use.
Assume original image file is at disk location A where you can see it in Finder. Imagine the following scenario:
You import the original image into a C1 catalog telling C1 that the import destination is "Inside catalog". C1 copies the image file to a disk location inside C1's catalog, the original image file is still in disk location A. You then tell C1 to delete the image file from disk.
Do you expect C1 to delete the image file from the disk location inside the catalog, from disk location A or both?

When I delete a file using the remove from disk option I’m expecting it to be deleted from both. I think I have found the answer in an old post from someone having the same problem. If you delete files from the All Images Tab it removes them from both, if I delete from the folder it only removes it from the Cat but leaves it on the disk. I have no idea why this should work but it does.

I am not sure that is the way it is supposed to work, but I stick to sessions.
