What you need to understand is that any adjustment made to a RAW file in CO can only be interpreted by CO. So in a way, yes, if you develop your RAW files in a CO catalog, you need to keep on using...

If you're using the ***free*** Capture One 9 Express version, you can't use local adjustments.

That's not my experience at all. If I connect my camera to my computer, Capture One automatically opens the Import dialog.
