The profiles have been recently remade. So the issue has persisted though several monitor profiles. Obviously no two monitors have the same profile in a colour managed workflow.

we did contact support but to approximate their words, they only support their software and not other peoples networks.

Canon's raw files seem happy to carry iptc core fields without the need for sidecar files. I don't understand why only extending dng support would be sufficient.

Arggghhh. it gets worse, much worse! The metadata that doesn't conform with the old iptc standard such as contact info is removed from the raw file by capture one!!!! WTF are Phase one thinking!!!! ☹️
