Ive had the same exact issues. I did get it to work better when NOT using the C1's tethered system but instead go the good ol way of using EOS Utility and let it save into the capture folder of C1....

I have that exact same issue with a 40D, and another user have reported that aswell. Though since others have managed to tether 1Ds mk3 maybe it's a Vista problem? Still waiting for tech support to...
