Nomore Thethering after update to OS 10.15.6

Hi

yesterday I updated my mbp to Catalina 10.15.6, working with C1 Pro 13.1.2.37.

I know: never touch a running system, BUT this morning I was with my client for a shoot and C1 did not recognize my camera. Strangely, Canon's EOS Utility did (and saved me with a workaround).

Is this a known issue, are there any tips to solve it?

  I suppose that you didn't follow the posts in this forum very much. There are lots of threads about tethering with Catalina (and different cameras).

  In the end, following seems to help always:

  • Did you remove your memory card(s) from the camera? If not, try without them.

  Thank you Ralf for your suggestions.

  It is true, I'm not a frequent forum user because until now, my setup was running like a saw ;).

  What made it work (as a workaround):

  - create a new user and install C1
  - login as current user and accept access to removable volumes
  - shoot without CF cards (what I don't like because I will probably forget to put one in the camera for further shootings w/o c1)

  Hope with a further update of c1 and osx I'll be able to use my setup as I used to...

  Hi Michael,

  as it works with the new user, you might try to enter following in a shell while being logged-in with your standard account:

  tccutil reset SystemPolicyRemovableVolumes com.captureone.captureone13
  tccutil reset Photos com.captureone.captureone13 
  
  

  After that you should get the access requests again so that you can use your usual account/login for tethering.

  Btw., when I played a bit with my (Nikon-)camera: I need to remove the memory cards for starting the tethering, but after tethering is activated, I could reinsert the cards and tethering still worked...

  Otherwise, does your camera have a setting that you can't take photos without memory card? If yes, it might be worth activating that setting? (at least [my] Nikon cameras do have such option)
