On OS X you can try Exif Editor. It will change the camera exif.You will have to reimport for C1 to see the change. It does work. I've done it.Also, Photo Meta Edit will work.

That's an awful plan. That's because the links to folders and images in the catalog database are absolute not relative. Major architectural problem in catalogs.
