File Support
Capture One for iPhone can import the following file types:
- RAW
- Files from camera models with native support in Capture One will per default have their native Capture One colors applied.
- DNG
- Files from camera models with native support in Capture One will per default have their native Capture One colors applied.
- Files from camera models that are not natively supported in Capture One will have generic DNG Standard colors applied.
- Capture One reads Apple’s tone-mapping metadata for ProRAW DNG files to match the photo’s appearance on your iPhone.
- Capture One doesn’t support adjustments and settings from other apps embedded in DNG files.
- HEIF/HEIC
- 8-bit only.
- JPEG RGB
- CMYK and grayscale are view only.

PNG RGB
- Grayscale are view only.
- TIFF RGB
- CMYK and grayscale are view only.
Importing files from iOS Files is recommended, except for Leaf IIQ files which should be imported from iOS Photos.
Supported file sizes range from 16 pixels on the shortest side for viewing, 512 pixels for editing, and up to 715 megapixels or 65,000 pixels on the longest edge.
Special modes like pixel shift are only supported if noted in Capture One Pro’s article on supported cameras.
Import Images
Tap on the Import tab located on the main screen and choose where you want to import your photos from by selecting either Photos app (you will see the entire Photos library, albums will not be available), Files app ( includes external devices, such as USB drives and SD cards, connected to your iPhone), or Connected Camera:
Navigate to the photos you want to import, select them and tap on Import or Open to start importing your photos:
Once the import is complete, you can access your imported photos from the All Images or Latest Import albums:
Review Images
Star Rating and Color Tagging
Open an album and tap on a photo to view it in the Viewer screen; tap it again to go full screen:
When an album is shared online, any ratings or tags added in the app will be visible in the Live session.
At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see several options: Review, Styles, Crop, Adjust, and Sharpening.
Tap on Review to access the Rating and Tagging tools (for more information on the other tools, please refer to the Image Editing (iPhone) article):
Once you’ve rated and tagged your photo, you can see the star rating and color tag on the album screen:
Select, Sort and Filter Images
Open an album and tap on the three dots (⋯) button to access additional options; from here, you can choose to Select, Sort, Filter, or Import Photos into the current album:
If you choose to select photos, additional options will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can Add to album, Duplicate to create virtual Variants of your photos, Export, or Delete;
for convenience, Sort and Select All buttons will also appear at the top of the screen:

Delete Images
To delete photos from an album, first tap on the three dots (⋯) button, then Select, once you’ve selected your photos, tap on the Delete button located at the bottom of the screen:
Alternatively, to delete individual photos, tap them in the album to open the Viewer screen, tap the three dots (⋯) button, and Remove (Remove from Album, Delete):

Organize with Albums
You can create custom Albums to organize your images.
Creating Albums
To create a new album, go to the Albums tab on the main screen and tap on the Create Album button; alternatively, you can also tap on the Create Album icon located at the top right corner of the screen:
Enter a name for your new album and tap on Create:
Your new album will now appear on the Albums tab on the main screen:
There are other convenient ways to create new albums as well. For example, when you select photos, tap on the Add to button at the bottom of the screen, or tap on the Create Album icon located at the top right corner of the screen:
Album Options
To access additional options for an album, open the album and tap on the three dots (⋯) button; alternatively, long press the album on the home screen:
From here, you can choose to Select, Sort, or Filter your photos (these options are described in more detail above).
You can also choose to Rename Album or Delete Album.

Cloud Transfer to Capture One Pro
Transfer albums with image files and adjustments from Capture One mobile to Capture One Pro by signing in with the same Capture One account.
Create an album and add images in Capture One mobile, as Cloud Transfer only works with user-created albums and not default Capture One Albums.
To save an album to the cloud, open the album and tap on the three dots (⋯) button located at the top right corner of the screen; then, tap on Save to Cloud:
A cloud icon will appear before your album name at the top of the screen and a radial progress bar will show the progress of the upload:
To check the progress of the upload, tap on the radial progress bar:
In Capture One Pro, go to the File menu and click on the Import from Cloud... option:
Alternatively, you can customize your toolbar and add the Cloud Transfer button:
Once you click on Import from Cloud... or the Cloud Transfer button, a dialog window will appear in Capture One Pro. From here, you can select a Capture One mobile cloud album to import from and a Capture One Pro destination folder on your desktop to import to:
Click on Import to start downloading the album from the cloud:
When the download is complete, your images will appear in the Library tool as referenced under the Folders section and Recent Imports.
Export Images
To export images, select them on the album screen and tap Export at the bottom of the screen, or tap the three dots ⋯ button on the Viewer screen and tap Export:
The Naming parameter has two options:
- File Name
- Custom Name
The Format parameter determines the output file format: JPEG, TIFF, Originals or EIP.
JPEG offers the following parameters to adjust your export:

Scale controls the output scale/size and has 4 options for JPEG:
- Full Scale
- Web Optimized
- Instagram Optimized
- Custom
- Quality controls JPEG compression.
- Watermark allows text on the image with adjustable opacity (slider) and position (tap and hold on the text preview to move, pinch to resize)
TIFF offers the following parameters to adjust your export:

Scale controls the output scale/size and has 3 options for TIFF
- Full Scale
- A3 Print
- Small

Bit Depth
- 8 bit
- 16 bit

Compression
- Uncompressed
- LZW
- ZIP
- Watermark allows text on the image with adjustable opacity (slider) and position (tap and hold on the text preview to move, pinch to resize).
Originals exports the original file without any adjustments, has no parameters.
EIP packs your image as Capture One EIP for further sharing and editing in Capture One, has no parameters. Learn more about EIP in this article.
