New Features and Functionality
Pupil + Iris and Sclera in People Masking
The Eyes option in People Masking has been split into Pupil and Iris and Sclera.
For details, see Assisted Masking.
Target Size for JPG Export Recipes
Specify a target file size for JPG exports in MB. It automatically adjusts the quality parameter to meet file size constraints as close as possible while preserving dimensions.
For details, see Export Recipes.
Anamorphic Desqueeze with the Keystone Aspect Slider
The Aspect slider now ranges from -50 (half size) to +100 (double size) and can be used to desqueeze images shot with anamorphic lenses.
For details, see Keystone.
New AppleScript "Visible" Property
The new Visible variant boolean property returns true if the variant is among the filtered variants visible in the parent document's current collection.
Example:
return variants whose visible is true
New AppleScript "Edit All Selected Variants" Property
The new Edit All Selected Variants application boolean property reflects the Edit All Selected Variants in UI.
Example:
set edit all selected variants to true
New AppleScript "Synchronizing" Property
The new Synchronizing collection boolean property indicates if this collection is currently in the process of adding or removing images to match what is in the filesystem. Can be set to true for a session folder collection in order to initiate background synchronization. For catalog folder collections, use the "synchronize" command instead.
Updated AppleScript "Processing Acceleration" Property
The Processing Acceleration application property is now unified, not split into UI and processing.
Example:
set processing acceleration to auto
Presets in Cloud Settings (All in One, Studio)
Presets are now a part of Cloud Settings on macOS and Windows, enabling you to sync Styles, Workspaces, Shortcuts, Export Recipes, and Presets across devices. Mobile support will be added later.
Guides and Normalize Presets are not supported because they are .xml files that are not saved in the Presets60 directory. Keystone and Purple Fringing Presets will not work when transferred between macOS and Windows.
For details, see Cloud Settings (All in One, Studio).
Expand Background with Photoroom API (All in One, Studio)
macOS users can now expand image backgrounds using the Photoroom API. A Photoroom API subscription is required for watermark-free results.
For details, see Edit Background with Photoroom API (All in One, Studio).
Background Replacement with Photoroom API on Windows (All in One, Studio)
Background Replacement is now available on Windows, with support for exporting as transparent PNG.
For details, see Edit Background with Photoroom API (All in One, Studio).
Filter by Ratings and Tags in Live for Studio (Studio)
Star ratings and color tags can now be filtered in the Live for Studio iPadOS app.
For details, see About Live for Studio.
User Experience and Performance Improvements
Faster Export
This improvement applies to all OS, machines, and file types; however, speed gains depend on the machine’s hardware. More CPU and GPU cores will result in better performance, with exporting being up to 4x faster on Apple M2 Ultra chips as an example.
Faster People Masking and Match Look
People Masking is now 2x faster, and Match Look processes 2-3x faster.
Magnified Loupe for Keystone
A magnified loupe view helps you adjust keystone handles accurately. Use the arrow keys to fine-tune adjustments and achieve greater control and precision in image alignment.
For details, see Keystone.
Copy Originals in Export Recipes
Previously available only via right-click, the new Copy original file option in Export Recipes allows you to export original files directly, with the option to pack them as EIPs if needed.
For details, see Export Recipes.
Improved Face Recognition for the Focus Tool
Enhanced AI model improves “Center to Eye” and “Center to Face” accuracy in the Focus Tool.
For details, see Focus Tool (AI Snap to Eye).
Improved Catalog Performance
Optimized autosave improves Сatalog responsiveness and reduces hanging for large or complex Сatalogs.
No-Key Activation Flow
You can now activate Capture One without entering a license key.
For details, see How to activate Capture One.
Sign In with Social Account
Sign In with Socials allows you to create a Capture One profile using your Apple, Google, or Microsoft credentials.
For details, see Creating and Managing a Capture One Profile.

System Requirements
Minimum system requirements
- macOS 13 or newer (tested on macOS 13.7, 14.7.1 and 15.2)
- Windows 10 64-bit 22H2, Windows 11 22H2 or newer (tested on Windows 10 64-bit 22H2 and Windows 11 24H2)
- Intel Core i3 (1st generation) or AMD Jaguar Family
- 8 GB of RAM
- 10 GB of free hard disk space
- Calibrated monitor with 1280×800, 24-bit resolution
- Internet connection to run Capture One Live
4K monitors
For optimal performance on 4K monitors, we recommend doubling the initial specifications due to the increased computational demands. Additionally, investing in a high-performance GPU with ample VRAM is highly recommended for these configurations to handle the intensive graphics processing.

Recommendations and Limitations
Note: The information provided here is subject to change and unintentional errors may occur. For any queries or further clarification, please contact support at https://support.captureone.com/
General guidelines
- Browsing folders containing unsupported image files may affect application performance.
- Previews from earlier versions of Capture One may be updated, which can affect the application performance the first time images are viewed in this version.
- Using a non-US laptop keyboard might require changing some of the standard keyboard shortcuts.
- Editing images in external applications other than Adobe Photoshop might result in unexpected behavior.
- Operating under virtualization software (e.g., Parallels, Hackintosh, etc.) may cause instability. These OS configurations are not recommended.
- Some cameras provide multishot functionality by way of multiple exposures or pixel shifting. In most cases, this functionality will not be available in Capture One. However, a single RAW file from the “stack” may be viewable and editable in Capture One (as if it was a shot in single Capture mode).
- Special or auxiliary modes (like pixel shift) are only supported if noted. If the information provided is incomplete or you need specific information pertaining to support in Capture One, kindly reach out to Capture One Support at captureone.com/support.
File support
- HEIC/HEIF support: Capture One supports HEIC/HEIF 8-bit files to the extent that the operating system supports the files. If you are on a Windows computer, you might need to download the two extensions “HEVC Video Extensions” and “HEIF Image Extensions” from Microsoft to enable support in Capture One.
- Capture One DNG colors: DNG files from camera models with native support in Capture One will per default have their native Capture One colors applied. DNG files from camera models that are not natively supported in Capture One will have generic DNG Standard colors applied. Adjustments and settings from other applications embedded in DNG files are not supported.
- Other file support: TIF/JPG/PSD/PNG files that are not in RGB color space cannot be adjusted within Capture One and will be read-only. Layered Tiff and PSD files can be supported for viewing purposes only. Reprocessing the image will result in a new flattened image.
- File size limitations: The smallest supported file for viewing has a minimum side of 16 pixels. The smallest supported file for editing has a minimum side of 512 pixels. The largest supported file is 715 megapixels or 65,000 pixels on the longest edge.
Known issues
- You can find a list of known bugs in a dedicated community forum topic titled Known Bugs. Note that this list may not be up to date on the day of a new Capture One version release.
