The Retouch Face Selector tool in Capture One (formerly – before Capture One 16.7.0 – a part of Retouch Faces tool) automatically detects and isolates faces in your images, making further portrait retouching faster and more precise. You can adjust all detected faces together or fine-tune each one individually for greater control.

Using the Retouch Face Selector
You’ll find the Retouch Face Selector tool in the Retouch Tool Tab. When you open an image, Capture One automatically detects faces so you can begin editing right away. The tool provides intuitive sliders to refine skin tone, smoothness, and other retouching parameters.
Once faces are detected, you can choose to:
- Apply adjustments to all faces – make consistent global edits across every detected face.
- Edit faces individually – select a specific face to fine-tune details with Retouch Teeth or Retouch Eyes independently.
Retouch Face Selector limitations
- Faces must be at least 200 px on the short edge to be detected.
- A maximum of 32 faces can be detected per image.
- Face detection works only on human faces.
These limits help ensure accurate face detection and performance consistency during retouching.
