Skin Tone Retouching

Located in the Retouch Tool Tab, Skin Tone Retouching helps create a more consistent skin appearance by reducing unwanted color variations and unifying skin tones across your subject.

Choose a target skin tone

Capture One automatically selects a target skin tone for each detected person. Skin tone adjustments are unified toward this target color, helping reduce visible color differences such as:

• Red noses
• Discolored hands
• Uneven facial coloration
• Inconsistent skin tones across the face and body

When multiple people are detected in an image, use the Retouch People Selector to select an individual person and adjust their skin retouching settings separately

Use Skin Uniformity

Skin Uniformity reduces variations in skin color and helps create a more balanced appearance.

The adjustment works by bringing skin tones closer to the selected target color while maintaining a natural result.

Adjust Temperature, Tint, Saturation, and Lightness

Use the adjustment controls to fine-tune the final appearance of the skin.

• Temperature: Adjusts the overall warmth or coolness of the skin tone.
• Tint: Adjusts green and magenta balance.
• Saturation: Controls the intensity of skin color.
• Lightness: Adjusts the brightness of the affected skin areas.

Together, these controls provide additional flexibility beyond simple skin tone matching.

All Skin, Face Skin, and Body Skin

Skin Tone Retouching can be applied separately to different skin regions.

• All Skin: Applies the adjustment to all detected skin areas.
• Face Skin: Applies the adjustment to facial skin only.
• Body Skin: Applies the adjustment to body skin independently from facial adjustments.

This separation provides additional control when different areas require different corrections.

• Designed for portrait photography workflows.
• A visible face is required for person detection.
• Multiple people can be adjusted individually.
• Each detected person receives a separate target skin tone.
