    In the Advanced Color Editor, all pixels in the image are treated equally which is different from the approach used in the Basic Color Editor. Thus, the change in saturation for both highlight and low saturated areas will be the same.

    I think it should be noted that the user can define ranges of hues and saturation, and only the pixels in the image in that range will be treated. In other words, an intelligent approach to increase or decrease saturation selectively based on existing saturation levels can be achieved too (the intelligence is located in front of the computer). It is a powerful and nice to use tool, once understood.
