What new features are introduced in Capture One 21?
Capture One 21 (14.0.0) is a major release with new features, improvements, bug fixes, camera and lens support, added OS support, and user experience changes.
1. Speed Edit
With Speed Edit, your workflow is accelerated as you do not need to navigate to the particular tool in the interface but simply use shortcuts for making adjustments.
2. The Dehaze tool
With the Dehaze tool, you can control the amount of fog or haze in your images.
3. HEIF/HEIC support
In Capture One 21 (14.0.0) and later versions of the software, you can import and adjust Apple HEIC images and other photos converted to 8-bit HEIF.
4. ProStandard camera profiles
With the ProStandard profiles, the colors are rendered more naturally, so there is a better transition between the hues and better retention of colors after the adjustments have been applied. Overall, the colors look natural from shadows to highlights with the ProStandard profiles.
5. Leica tethering
Basic tethering (without live-view) for already supported Leica camera models is now available in Capture One 21. Also, support for new Leica camera models was added in Capture One 21.
6. Improved Importer
The Importer in Capture One 21 has several different improvements:
- Picker functionality to easily make the import selection
- Bigger import window with high-resolution thumbnails
- Improved terminology and descriptions of import destinations in Catalogs
- Option to select multiple folders to import from at the same time
- Option to select images directly in the Folder Browser
- First-time import requires fewer clicks
7. Improved performance
It now takes less time to import images, open Catalogs/Sessions, and browse in them. Please also note that performance improvements depend on the individual setup of the operating system, hardware, and other running processes.
8. Improved offline activation
For users who need to run Capture One in an offline environment, Offline Activation has been made easier with the use of a QR code.
9. Easy brush adjusting
It is now possible to easily change the size, hardness, opacity, and flow of any brush by using modifier keys and a mouse / trackpad / pen. Hold down the modifier key(s) and click-drag to change the parameters of the brush.

10. Enhanced tooltips
Each enhanced tooltip has a short description of the corresponding tool. If applicable, an image example, default shortcut key, a link to the introduction video, and a link to the article about the corresponding tool in the Help Center are shown in the enhanced tooltip as well.
11. Easy access to tutorials
It is now easier to find the best tutorials directly in Capture One. A new ‘Learn’ button has been added to the toolbar, opening a new section with curated tutorials for the best learning experience.
