The Dehaze tool introduced in Capture One 21 (14.0.0) is designed to control the amount of haze and improve the saturation in flat-contrast images.
The Dehaze tool is located in the Exposure tool tab by default. If that does not show up in your workspace, you can add the Dehaze tool by right-clicking in the Tool Tab area and selecting Add Tool -> Dehaze.
To remove the haze, fog, or smog effect from the image, use the Dehaze tool following the steps outlined below.
1. When dragging the Amount slider in the Dehaze tool, the shadow tone is automatically detected. The haze effect will be changed in the image depending on whether you drag the Amount slider to the left or right.
2. Select the Pick Haze Shadow Tone cursor to determine another haze shadow tone which will yield a different result. For optimal results, the shadow tone should be picked preferably on a hazy and dark area.
3. To reset the haze color to an automatically calculated color, select Auto in the Shadow Tone dropdown menu.
4. The Dehaze tool can be also used with the adjustment Layers to control the haze effect on the specific part(s) of the image.
After drawing a mask and making the adjustments with the Dehaze tool, click on the Action menu (...) icon in the Dehaze tool and select Recalculate Haze Shadow Tone from the context menu to recalculate the auto color based on the mask.
