The "Could not process file" error usually means Capture One cannot read from or write to the files or destination used during export. In most cases, the issue relates to file availability, storage access, or the export recipe.

Check that the images are online
Make sure the images you are exporting are not offline. If the files are stored on an external or network drive, Capture One must be able to access them for both reading and writing.
On macOS, also confirm that Capture One has permission to access your files and storage. See Allow full disk access to Capture One on macOS.
Confirm the external drive is connected
If you export to an external drive, check that the drive is connected, mounted, and available in the Finder or File Explorer. If the drive disconnects or goes to sleep, Capture One cannot complete the export.
Test a different Export Recipe
Try exporting the same images using a different export recipe. If the export works, the original recipe may be corrupted.
In that case, create a new recipe and reapply the same settings instead of reusing the existing one.
Check available disk space
Make sure there is enough free space on the destination drive. On macOS, Finder may not always show accurate available space, especially on external or network volumes.
If possible, verify free space using Disk Utility or try exporting to a different location with known available storage.
If the issue continues
Restart Capture One and try exporting again. If the error persists, contact Capture One Support and include details about your storage setup, export destination, and export recipe.
