Hi Margaret Stratton .. I tend to use the heal tool for this vs clone tool, and I use a very soft (zero) hardness so there is super clean blending.

Are you on Windows? The macOS users are provided a script from the Scripts menu to do this.

How long is the cable? Capture One recommends no longer than 3 meters without a signal repeater. Z8 45MP files are much larger than the Z6iii files so you need a really good signal.

There is an option in C1 to not open automatically. With your card reader attached I think you open the Importer dialog and somewhere there is a checkbox to disable this behavior.

Also look in the Batch Queue folder .. it accumulates files without ever cleaning them up. It is in your home folder's Library > Application Support > Capture One folder.
