It's most probably the 8GB ram that's causing the problem. Two mac's ago ;) I also had performance problems. When I upgraded to 16GB everything was much faster

Yep all is working fine, tested it just now. I have a macbook air M1, 16gb ram, 2tb ssd. I usually work in sessions on the internal ssd. Using CaptureOne 21 PRO, build 14.0.2.49

They just have to compile it against apple silicon, just like many other did (affinity, adobe, starry landscape stacker, etc.) I don't know why they didn't??
