The catalog functionality needs to be fixed so it can be used reliably in a production system. Integration with external editors also needs to be added.It needs to be made reliable too 😉

Why would you want to move the files to the catalog ? Keeping them referenced is more flexible and will also allow Lightroom to keep access to them.

The CO catalog is a sqlite database it will not perform well on a network drive. This is why Adobe and Apple don't let you do it.
