I am having the exact same problem and it is a huge issue and makes it not usable as a professional.

Still slow though. Smaller files plus usb C and they should be at least as fast and consistent as my Nikon D810.

Not the cable, I was tethering with a 2 foot usb c cable and it was markedly slower than the Nikon D810 files which are bigger and were going through a 4 metre USB 2 cable. They start out at a reas...

eos r slow teathering
Hi, my eos R is really slow tethering, previews taking 5 seconds to load on a brand new macbook pro top spec. My D810 files fly in with almost no lag.
