Variant groups can be collapsed or closed to save space in the browser. When a variant group is closed, only the pick is visible. When a variant group is open, all of the image variants related to that group are displayed in the browser so you can select any of the individual image variants to display in the viewer.
- To open/close the variant group, click on the group button located at the top-left of the pick’s thumbnail (numbered as position "1" in the Browser.
Alternatively, select Image -> Expand Selected /Collapse Selected in the main menu. - To open/close all the variant groups in a collection, select Image -> Expand All/Collapse All in the main menu.
NOTE: The variant group(s) cannot be expanded/collapsed when some search criteria or filter is being applied.

It may be worth observing that any filters in use may influence whether specific variants are displayed (when expanded) or not.
I've used this for years and this always worked but now it seems like the option isn't even available -- and then I noticed that there was something -- although nothing was written -- in the search box that prevented it from showing the collapse/expand option. It's worth noting this at the TOP of the article about expanding or collapsing variants.
Hi,
Thank you for your comment and suggestion.
That is a good idea to have this note added to the article.
