I would like to buy a license for the new version CO, but I won't until there is a Linux version.

  • Hi

I have moved my black and white and color workflows completely over to Darktable using the Filmic RGB module. I can't be running Windows just for photos.

I would love to buy a new license, but I run only linux. I have a old license on my old laptops second-choice Windows boot, but it is such a pain to sync all photos over there and have a second OS just for photo-editing.
I will buy a linux license instantly.

If you would start something like a kickstarter and wait until you have 200 licenses sold or whatever number, I would love to be part of it!

But after all, your position does not explain in any way the impossibility of launching Capture One under Wine in Linux.

The same Adobe is also not going to provide the ability to run the Windows version of Photoshop outside of Windows. But, nevertheless, Photoshop can be run in Wine and it will even work.

That is, it turns out that you intentionally make it impossible to launch Capture One outside of Windows?

+1 I would buy it instantly. I still use Windows because of C1. There is a huge userbase to reach because the big players doesn't serve this market.

There are only a couple of apps that I use that stop me from switching to Linux completely, and one of those is Capture One. Please bring us a linux version!

I think a crowdfunding campaign is needed. It will allow, firstly, to estimate the real demand for Capture One on Linux, and secondly, to cover the costs of the corresponding R&D.

CaptureOne is literally keeping me from switching to Linux full time. I know the development team is probably quite small, but Linux is growing. It's time to grow with it!

I have a full Capture one license and the *only* reason I still keep a Mac is to use this software. +1 for Linux all the way! It's about time guys, Windows has become a spying machine and advertising platform, and MacOS is a completely constrained, closed and expensive ecosystem!

I would buy licences for the whole team if it supported Linux. We have already done so for Davinci Resolve.

I think these days makes it important to provide a version on linux systems. Windows will loose many users over the next months and years.

I will buy a new license only for the linux version.

I have not renewed license for Capture One for a year now. And the reason is that I'm not moving anymore from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Windows 10 will be dead on Oct 2025.
Already establishing my photo workflow on Ubuntu. If Capture One is not coming to Linux, then that's tough luck. I will need to let go of this very good image program. Please Phase One, please make Capture One to Linux.

...sounds like many companies want to make it harder for themselves than it really is - I mean - how is it possible that i.e. Darktable is installable to multitude of OS ? And they are running on voluntarily work!

I have become more and more fed up with Windows over the years. At this moment, Capture One is the only reason why I have to put up with it.

A Linux version of Capture One would enable me to finally completely switch to Linux. This would make my work much easier.

I would even be willing to purchase an additional/new "Linux"-License to financially support porting the software.

    Best Regards

    Robin

+1 Would buy a separate license. Please do a crowdfunding round if you doubt that it is financially feasible. Although I doubt this will happen with the current management of C1 considering how old this thread is.

I would also love to see support for Linux. +1
