How do I add a floating tool?

QUESTION

I can't find the tool I'm looking for, or I'd like to add a duplicate instance of a tool. How can I do so? 

 

ANSWER

You can create a new floating tool via Window -> Create Floating Tool -> [tool].

The tool can then be positioned in any tool tab you'd like by dragging it in.

Alternatively, you can add a tool by right-clicking in a tool tab and selecting Add tool...

    I am having an issue in Capture One version 21 that I did not have in version 20.

    Whenever I add the Layers Tool to the Adjustment Tab, when I exit Capture One and reopen it, the Layers Tool that I added is no longer there. This was not an issue in version 20.

    Hi Andre,

    Please let me know which operating system are you running.

    Also, please save the workspace by navigating to the main menu Window -> Workspace -> Save Workspace before closing Capture One. Let me know if the tool is retained after you launch Capture One again.
