Capture One Live is a service that enables easy remote collaboration between photographers and their clients and partners. It allows photographers to instantly share collections of photos with others who can then view, rate, and color tag the photos directly on any device through a web browser. During tethered Sessions, photos can be shared in real-time as they are captured. This enables easy, fast, and safe remote collaboration. Additionally, the service can be used as an asynchronous feedback tool, since it allows photographers to have the Sharing Session active for a day and get feedback any time during that period.
Be sure to check the Capture One Live video tutorial and Quick Start Guide for Capture One Live.
Capture One Live is available in Capture One 22 (15.1.0) or later. Use the latest version to get the newest Capture One Live improvements.
Capture One 16.6.0 brings a number of improvements to Capture One Live:
- Live Sessions last up to 60 days for Capture One Studio users
- New Library Tool hierarchy support
- Any folder in the Library tree can be shared from the right-click menu
- Sharing a parent folder shares all the nested folders. A parent folder only displays pictures directly contained in it, not pictures from nested folders.
- Once shared, folders appear as a list, containing both parent and nested folders. Folders appear with indentations when the side bar is expanded and as a list when the sidebar is collapsed
- Optimized multiple folders sharing: share larger folders and image sets.
Starting from version 16.7.2, ratings and color tags now remain available for 30 additional days after session expires.
On Mobile and All-in-One, this means your data is kept for a total of 60 days.
On Studio, data is kept for a total of 90 days.
To provide feedback about your experience or any issues you find with Capture One Live, please contact Support here or use the Rate your Experience button if you are in the Session.

Would be great to have a toggle for Annotations within the Web Gallery. However, I still can't believe you are charging for this service. Preview quality is absolutely atrocious - every client I have Proofed with using Live shares the complaint. Across clients, and multiple shoots - I am guaranteed to receive Selects where the Subject's eyes are closed, or entirely out of focus.
Furthermore, without the inclusion of a Change Log - it is impossible to Audit what changes to Tags/Ratings have been made, and by whom. This is a critical issue waiting to happen - what if Client manages to zero ALL ratings, undoing their work. There is no way to go back and get a list/manually create one from a log.
Capture Pilot, opened up to the Internet was a much more effective turnaround as image quality far exceeds that of what is currently offered.
This feature seems elementary and unfinished at best. Very eager for an update/response on these points!
"...Do comments sync back to Capture One desktop app?
Comments are only viewable in a Capture One Live Session..."
So the photographer has to have CO Desktop running/open and also be monitoring a CO Live Session web-page …? Couldn't there be some kind of notification with/in the CO Desktop App….? thank U
Nice feature. but before I oder this feature it need:
-a Downloadoption with different sizes. Zip Support etc.
- a search function.
-multiple User with management.(The selection from my model is different from my selection or the selection from the Makeup Artist I don't wanna that the model see the selection from the MuA. Each User need this selection.)
-unlimited time (or an mail with the last changes if the times end)
-possible to use my one Server (GDPR)
-a "adminpage" where I can login an select my session.
Right now it a proof of concept nothing more. sorry.
+ White label.
also. Could CaptureOne officially clarify where are located the data ?
I really like this idea! Even if the customer is at the same place he or she might be busy concurrently with other things and can not be present at the same spot. For that reason, it would be great with some subtle notice for the customer that now comes a new series of photos but not for every photo. I mean one angle needs for example 10 shots when that is done the photographer sends a notice/reminder to check the series of 10 shots so the customer knows when that series of photos are done. More effective for the customer that doesn't have to check continuously or miss to respond to the photographer before changing the set.
Will the settings of Capture One for each photograph reflect in the customer's web browser?
I mostly photograph on location and how can that be incorporated to transfer low res photos for example over the mobile?
What happens to comments when shared sessions expire?
If they are not transferred to CO, do I need to follow them online before session is ended(?) - there might be very important information from a client in these comments...
If it's not possible to share multiple folder inside a session it's a useless tool, on fashion shoot we organize the photoshoot into subfolder like:
Session Name/Capture/subfolders
If client can only see one of the looks I have shoot it's the same as nothing.
I’ve been trying to use the beta a little more and I’ve run into new issues that may make it hard to use with clients.
When having a client go though a folder to do the ratings sometimes it will take a while for all images to load (that’s not the problem, I know upload speeds will make this stay whatever it is). The real issue is sometimes the client will think the folder has 20 images while the other 80 are still loading. It would be great if you could have it it instantly show blank placeholders for all the images that still need to load. At least that way they will understand that they need to wait a bit for the images to populate. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated.
You probably cant do that - now it says this - no clue why. I did cancel the service, so maybe others cant use the links
Hi Javier!
I am using Live everyday with many different customers and partners. It works like a charm here..
Would you mind share a link with us?
What are your issues?
Works but for me ordering by date is terrible. Ordering by name should be possible or what about different orderposibilities?
I also realize, clicking an image to see it "fullscreen", one can download images, I am not sure if that is a good idea on the one hand - on the other hand, if download images is an option, naming of that image should be the same filename and not -- ED6EC9E6-C789-4C68-ABF6-888476A68413-m -- I think.
Kind Regards,
Uwe
Filtration by color doesnt load.
Using Mac Studio
Chrome
Just get a random circling wheel when I tried to filer by color.
Kind of sucks that such a simple feature does not work - first time trying
Also on a high speed ethernet connection
Also where is the "Stop sharing" button - I'd imagine that'd be the easy thing to find from the actual
software
The whole experience feels buggy in general
Sorry had to cancel this - unusable at the moment
The online ratings are not transferring to my shoot session. Some photos are marked with a 5 star rating, but there are dozens that were not marked on my local computer, but are marked online. Why are they not updating locally?
Does the preview size selected in preferences impact the preview synced with capture live? We changed our preview size and now the client is receiving grossly pixilated previews in their live session. Or is it something else? It also seems like it could be the preview quality degrading with each live session we create because there isn't a hard switch. Anyone else experience this?
How do I see the comments made by a client? Can I see them on my software version of C1 while I am shooting or after the shoot is finished like I can with the star and color tags? Or do I have to log into the 'shared' web version of C1 Live (like the client) to see the comments?
Is there any way to share the whole session, ie each of the separate shot folders?
I can't seem to find any info on this online.
Thanks
I've been experimenting with Capture One Live and it has a huge flaw for me. I have multiple clients reviewing images, and I'd like all of them to be able to rate/tag the photos individually. Unless I'm missing something, there can only be one rating/color tag for a photo, and if people have ratings permissions they just override my ratings in CO. I'd love it to function more like ShootProof or Pixieset, where I can see how many "likes" each photo has. The comments function is great though.
@Roxane Chicoine
It's a good question. To my mind, the "like/dislike" feature could make live a bit too complex. Dislike/Like are not part of standard metadatas making it hard to integrate in the the main software.
However, for comments, there is an EXIF "User comment" field. I guess, C1 could retrieve the online comment there.
Cheers
I'm trying to work on a project with a client. My client has commented some photos with "Live Comments".I was able to filter these in Capture One Pro under "Filters" menu (even if the comments info is a bit cryptic), but I wasn't able to make "New Smart Album" based on "Live Comments".
Hi Josh,
Pictures are just sharp in live for me. Maybe there is a technical issue.
Contact the support.
Cheers
Nevermind, I see that I need to "resume sharing" for my computer to update with their ratings... as you were.
Hi Nicolas,
Thank you for your feedback.
Here are answers to your questions:
1. Until you stop the session or the expiry time has been reached, the photos are securely stored in our online service.
2. What is the average desired session duration?
3. What do you mean by tracking live share? How would you like to keep track of the live shares? Currently, we support only one concurrent live session.
4. Yes, our European customers use a European server.
This is great. Currently not working on smart albums though.. should we expect it in the future? i mean becomes easy to share those across rather than manually creating an album to add photos
Hi Varun,
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, smart albums are planned for the future.
Please stay tuned for further updates.
Hi Maryna !
Most of my customers need a week to finish the seletion. But some many need one mouth.. I would be nice to have let's say a limite number of pictures or share, but unlimited in time.
-> No problem to pay a fee per year for such a service.
I mean having a list of all my current shares. Most of the time, I have 1 to 10 customers seletion in the same time.
This is great!
Hi Martin,
Thank you for your feedback.
2K is the default resolution for your pictures in the shared session. Apart from resolution, Capture One Live respects the export settings of the currently selected recipe of the Export tab.
