Be sure to check out this quick video tutorial: Capture One Live.
Capture One Live is a new service that enables easy remote collaboration between photographers and their clients and partners. It allows photographers to instantly share collections of photos with others who can then view, rate, and color tag the photos directly on any device through a web browser. During tethered Sessions, photos can be shared in real-time as they are captured. This enables easy, fast, and safe remote collaboration. Additionally, the service can be used as an asynchronous feedback tool, since it allows photographers to have the Sharing Session active for a day and get feedback any time during that period.
NOTE: Capture One Live is available to users running Capture One 22 (15.1.0) or later. You should always use the latest version to get the most out of Capture One Live.
To provide feedback about your experience or any issues you find with Capture One Live, please contact Support here or use the Rate your Experience button if you are in the Session.

Hi!
This is just great! But it leads to some question:
- where are the pictures located once C1 is not running anymore ?
- Why only one day ? I would pay for more.
- How to keep the track of all "live" share ?
- Are the cloud server in the EU? Mostly, we are not using US or Asian server. EU in addition to Scandinavian countries and Switzerland are welcome.
Regards
Hi Nicolas,
Thank you for your feedback.
Here are answers to your questions:
1. Until you stop the session or the expiry time has been reached, the photos are securely stored in our online service.
2. What is the average desired session duration?
3. What do you mean by tracking live share? How would you like to keep track of the live shares? Currently, we support only one concurrent live session.
4. Yes, our European customers use a European server.
This is great. Currently not working on smart albums though.. should we expect it in the future? i mean becomes easy to share those across rather than manually creating an album to add photos
Hi Varun,
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, smart albums are planned for the future.
Please stay tuned for further updates.
Hi Maryna !
Most of my customers need a week to finish the seletion. But some many need one mouth.. I would be nice to have let's say a limite number of pictures or share, but unlimited in time.
-> No problem to pay a fee per year for such a service.
I mean having a list of all my current shares. Most of the time, I have 1 to 10 customers seletion in the same time.
This is great!
I really like this idea! Even if the customer is at the same place he or she might be busy concurrently with other things and can not be present at the same spot. For that reason, it would be great with some subtle notice for the customer that now comes a new series of photos but not for every photo. I mean one angle needs for example 10 shots when that is done the photographer sends a notice/reminder to check the series of 10 shots so the customer knows when that series of photos are done. More effective for the customer that doesn't have to check continuously or miss to respond to the photographer before changing the set.
Will the settings of Capture One for each photograph reflect in the customer's web browser?
I mostly photograph on location and how can that be incorporated to transfer low res photos for example over the mobile?
Hi Martin,
Thank you for your feedback.
2K is the default resolution for your pictures in the shared session. Apart from resolution, Capture One Live respects the export settings of the currently selected recipe of the Export tab.
What is the difference between Capture One Live and Capture Pilot? Is Live replacing Pilot?
Currently I use this software at work where we have issues utilizing the complete functionality of Capture Pilot because of firewalls within the company's digital infrastructure. About the only way we can use it is to create an ad-hoc network and connect an iPad for clients at the shoot. So mainly what I'm wondering is, with Capture One Live, am I going to have the same issues that I'm currently having with Pilot where I can't utilize the web sharing because of my company's firewall?
Thanks for your help!
Thanks for your comment.
The main idea is that COL can be an alternative to Capture Pilot for sharing a photoshoot and getting ratings and color tags over the internet. It does not do all the things the Capture Pilot does, for example, it does not have camera controls.
So for browsing, rating and tagging yes, Capture One Live can be an alternative to Capture Pilot and allow for sharing over the internet and with any device and it's not limited to the local network and iPads with the app installed.
I appreciate the feedback, I'm still a little lost on the subject. C1 Pilot has a publish to web feature in which one can send a link to someone else who can then view the capture session in real time as well as rate and color tag images. So it sounds like Pilot does everything that Live does plus it can also publish to mobile devices and has camera control functionality.
So what I'm understanding is that Live is really just an additional session sharing tool but with less features than Pilot, is that right?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your feedback.
Could you tell us more about your workflow and how you currently use Capture Pilot?
Is there a need for remote collaboration?
I think you're missing my question. Is there any benefit to C1 Live over Pilot?
And like I asked in my first comment, is Live replacing Pilot?
I also mentioned in that first comment that one big issue we have with Pilot currently is not being able to utilize the web function because of my company's firewall. I wanted to know if there was anything within Live's infrastructure that's different from Pilot that might alleviate this issue? I imagine there's not, but just curious.
If you'd like to discuss my workflow and software needs I'd be happy to chat about that but I would prefer to do it over a different platform, if possible (email, phone call, etc.).
Thank you! :)
Capture One live could be great but definitely needs some improvement.
For me the biggest problem is the client cannot change folders. We need a way to share more than one folder and a smart folder.
Thanks,
F
Hi Fletcher,
Thank you for your feedback.
I'll forward your suggestion to add the option to share more than one album, as well as a smart album to our Product Management team.
Hopefully, your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
This is great!
Can we expect any implementation of the annotation tool for offsite creatives to provide markups?
+1 on the ability to navigate between capture folders as well. Would be tremendously helpful.

How do I recover an exiting session? I'm testing with a friend. I closed C1 without "Stop sharing". After starting C1 again, I cannot resume the Live Session but she still can star photos.. how can I recover the session in order to update her selects and stars in my album?
Thanks
Hi Juan,
Thanks for your comment.
When you start the desktop app again, are you offered the option to Resume sharing?
The session will automatically expire after 1 day since it was created.
Does the 25 live session limit refreshes when I close the session?
Or does it refreshes every 24h?
I’ve been trying to use the beta a little more and I’ve run into new issues that may make it hard to use with clients.
When having a client go though a folder to do the ratings sometimes it will take a while for all images to load (that’s not the problem, I know upload speeds will make this stay whatever it is). The real issue is sometimes the client will think the folder has 20 images while the other 80 are still loading. It would be great if you could have it it instantly show blank placeholders for all the images that still need to load. At least that way they will understand that they need to wait a bit for the images to populate. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Fletcher,
Thank you for your feedback on Capture One - we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your suggestion for improving session sharing in Capture One Live to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Hopefully, your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
Nice feature. but before I oder this feature it need:
-a Downloadoption with different sizes. Zip Support etc.
- a search function.
-multiple User with management.(The selection from my model is different from my selection or the selection from the Makeup Artist I don't wanna that the model see the selection from the MuA. Each User need this selection.)
-unlimited time (or an mail with the last changes if the times end)
-possible to use my one Server (GDPR)
-a "adminpage" where I can login an select my session.
Right now it a proof of concept nothing more. sorry.
+ White label.
also. Could CaptureOne officially clarify where are located the data ?
The online ratings are not transferring to my shoot session. Some photos are marked with a 5 star rating, but there are dozens that were not marked on my local computer, but are marked online. Why are they not updating locally?
Nevermind, I see that I need to "resume sharing" for my computer to update with their ratings... as you were.
I see some discrepancy between "my" view and the live view, depending the order of images. If I, for example, add a virtual copy or even just a new image, it does not appear at the same place with the same order as my album shows it. Would be great if that is kind of better synchronized. In any case this sharing stuff is a great timesaver but needs some, I don't know, better ordering system? Maybe a set of two buttons to order it by name or date like a refresh button or so? Kindest Regards, Uwe
I also realize, clicking an image to see it "fullscreen", one can download images, I am not sure if that is a good idea on the one hand - on the other hand, if download images is an option, naming of that image should be the same filename and not -- ED6EC9E6-C789-4C68-ABF6-888476A68413-m -- I think.
Kind Regards,
Uwe
"...Do comments sync back to Capture One desktop app?
Comments are only viewable in a Capture One Live Session..."
So the photographer has to have CO Desktop running/open and also be monitoring a CO Live Session web-page …? Couldn't there be some kind of notification with/in the CO Desktop App….? thank U
What happens to comments when shared sessions expire?
If they are not transferred to CO, do I need to follow them online before session is ended(?) - there might be very important information from a client in these comments...
Filtration by color doesnt load.
Using Mac Studio
Chrome
Just get a random circling wheel when I tried to filer by color.
Kind of sucks that such a simple feature does not work - first time trying
Also on a high speed ethernet connection
Also where is the "Stop sharing" button - I'd imagine that'd be the easy thing to find from the actual
software
