The new Cross Recipe Tokens tool is introduced with the release of Capture One 21 (14.4.0). This tool has been added to the Export tools and allows you to define the contents of the Subfolder token and the Job Name token, which are used in the Location Tool and in the Naming Tool.
The Cross Recipe Tokens tool is placed under Export Recipes in the unscrollable area and you can see it only if you tick the option ‘Show all options’ in the Export dialog.
If you are using the Subfolder/Job name token in your recipes and want to change the token content for all the recipes you can do so using the Cross Recipe Tokens tool instead of going through each recipe and changing the contents. To do this, please follow the guide below:
For Job name token content
- Go to the Export icon.
- Select the Naming tool.
- Select the Naming Format dialog by clicking on the (…) icon next to the Format field and select Job name token.
- Click OK to accept the changes.
- Go to the Cross Recipe Tokens tool and enter the name directly in the Job Name field.
Now the Job Name token content is similar for all recipes.
- Now, if you want to change the token content across all your recipes you only need to change it in the Cross Recipe Tokens tool.
For Subfolder token content
- Go to the Export icon.
- Select the Location tool.
- Select the Naming Format dialog by clicking on the (…) icon next to the Subfolder field and select Subfolder token.
- Click OK to accept the changes.
- Go to the Cross Recipe Tokens tool and enter the name directly in the Subfolder field.
Now the Subfolder token content is similar for all recipes.
- Now, if you want to change the token content across all your recipes you only need to change it in the Cross Recipe Tokens tool.
Please keep in mind that the tokens in the Cross Recipe Tokens tool are constant across all recipes, and if the content of one recipe is different from the other, this tool should not be used.

Tried this, it doesn't work if you want to add tokens across all recipes it only works if you type something in. I just upgraded to C-21 from 20 and this is totally frustrating. In version 20 you could set the "root folder" to "output location" and the subfolders would be the same for all recipes based on the tokens, in the subfolder tab at the output location. This meant that you could set up the subfolder tokens to be the same in every recipe just by clicking on the root folder in the process recipe tab to be output location when creating a recipe. I can't find a way to replicate this in v-21.

Hi Barry, if I understood your issue, basically it works like that: in "Export Cross Recipe Tokens", you can create two custom tokens ('subfolder', 'job name'). Then, in each Export Recipe that you want, you can use that two custom tokens.
Example: if you set "/my/root/path" as 'subfolder' token, and set the Export location of all your Export Recipes to be 'subfolder', then all your exported photos will go into "/my/root/path". Changing the 'subfolder' token will affect all your Export Recipes.
Hi!
Is it possible to use the Keywords as a Token to export in a subfolder? I would like to export each client tagged with a different Keyword in their different folder... Is it possible?
Example:
Client 1 >> Exported in Subfolder "Client 1".
Have you considered to add this feature?
Thanks in advance!
