Too slow to use. With A7IV, it takes around 10 sec to transfer one image.

Benjamin Kim What's your setup look like? I had a somewhat frustrating experience when I had a wall between myself and the router and was shooting in the highest quality RAW format. I had a better experience when connecting the camera directly to the iPad (not using the router) and shooting in RAW + JPEG – the JPEGs came in as quick as they would display on the back of the camera and I felt like I could shoot more confidently.

I've since switched to Hasselblad as my primary studio camera, but I briefly shot (~10 shoots) wireless tether using my Sony A1 using pretty much all compression types and sizes. If your camera has it, make sure to switch to 5GHz wifi. My A1 was transferring medium and small RAW images to Capture One in less than 3 seconds, and about 5-7 seconds for compressed RAW. My A7C on the other hand averages around 10 seconds even with 5GHz enabled.

Needless to say, I really like this feature, and hoping Capture One expands to include any camera that can connect to your computer via WiFi.

Just tried with a Sony A7c using a Wireless setup. Jpegs came through as fast as I could shoot, with Raw files taking a few seconds to import into CO.

For anyone shooting tethered and whom may "spray and pray", tethered/wireless photography is not for you!

I'm looking forward to trying out more of my cameras, thank you Capture One!!!

Shlomi Aldo Firmware 2.0 gave some problems with Wi-Fi connectivity. You have to reset the network settings and setup wireless tethering again, as the process has changed based on the new firmware that is available. Let me know how you get on after resetting the network settings.

I encountered the same problem as Shlomi Aldo, and I tried to reset the network settings. When I tried to connect the camera, a pop-up box showed that the camera could not be connected and A7M4 was currently busy. The description displayed on the event page is that it is online and an internal error has occurred. (Camera is not open.com.captureone.captureone。code:11)

URGENT ATTENTION REQUIRED, Jack-W & Capture One! Despite resetting the network settings and updating the SSID/PW, I'm STILL encountering the same issues. This situation is critical as I have an important shoot scheduled just two weeks away. I'm hoping to avoid resorting to a tether tools cable for this project.

I implore you, please prioritize resolving this issue as soon as possible - an immediate update would be greatly appreciated. Your swift action in this matter is not just desired, but absolutely necessary. Thank you for your immediate attention and assistance.

I don't fix any bugs personally, but I can certainly try and help you all with this. First of all, have you reported the behavior you're experiencing to our support team?

It's critical that they have this information, so that it is logged and addressed in an update.

Though, it's not Capture One that is the only factor here. The firmware update is also something to consider as a factor.

Let me see what information the support team has on this and I'll see if there's anything I can recommend right away.

Anthony Elix Please try the steps below and let me know how you get on:

    • MENU > Network > Network Option > Access Authen. Settings > Off
    • MENU > Network > Cnct./PC Remote > Remote Shoot Settings > Save Image Size > Original
The next step enables the WiFi Direct function:
    • MENU > Network > Cnct./PC Remote > PC Remote Function > Wi-Fi Direct Info. > OK (on question to start this function) > screen with SSID, password, and device name appears
    • MENU > Network > Cnct./PC Remote > PC Remote Function > PC Remote > On
After connecting computer, a message appears "Connected via WiFi".

In Capture One go to the Camera tool. In the Select camera drop-down list select the camera by its device name from the Wi-Fi Direct Information screen mentioned above.

    Hi Jack

I wanted to let you know that I also have an A7R5, and I tried your suggestion, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me either. I'm wondering if you're suggesting that all A7R5 users should not upgrade to Sony's 2.0 software. Should we consider downgrading to version 1.0 in order to continue shooting wireless tethered on Capture One 23? Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony Elix You shouldn't have to do that, but this behavior only began with firmware version 2.0. So if that option is available to you, then go for it.

I would encourage you to also contact Support with your findings so that we can keep a log of this behavior.

    Hi Jack,

Thank you so much for your guidance and suggestions. I really appreciate your support. I will reach out to Sony’s customer support to inquire if it's possible for all of us to downgrade our A7R5 cameras back to 1.0 older version, which would allow to use Capture One software effectively.  Thanks again for you suggestions!

Anthony Elix (and anybody else affected by the Sony 2.0 firmware update)

I don't have the camera body in my possession right now, but if you navigate to the following menu:

And choose "Access Authen. Settings" and disable the option therein. This should allow you to make a connection with Capture One when running the latest firmware.

    Thank you so much. Jack-W
I've waited months for a fix and all I had to do was Disable the "Access.Authen.Settings". Now it works wirelessly for iPad app too. Thank you very much!

Hi, I keep getting an error when trying to connect my new A7IV. I have followed all of the above advice but keep getting the pictured error? The camera connects fine to the Sony remote program and shows up as a listed camera in Capture one? I'm not sure where i'm going wrong here. Thanks in advance!

I tried this:  If you are using firmware 2.0 then the menus may have changed. Navigate to "Network Option" in the Network menu and disable "Access Authen. Settings" - this should allow you to communicate with Capture One.

But it didn't work. I have connection with my windows laptop, but C1 will not find the Sony 7rV. (There have also been no problems before updating to Vers. 2,0) I have been contacting Sony support, but still I have no answer.

    Thank you!
