Hello CO, I trust in you, my workflow is a 100% CO. I bought the A7C2, but returned after a week not being able to open the raw files. More than 3 months after the announcement of a new camera, is very long to not have the supported raw file. Out of all your objectives, I think the shortest time gap between the release and the compatibility should be one of you main goal. I'll consider buying it later on.

I bought only this week the A7CII in a bundle (!) with Capture One 23 (already had C22) fully expecting C23 to support the camera in the meantime. Only found out after activating and not seeing the ARW - fully frustrated. If Phase One does not provide another interim version of 16.x with the support and expects me to buy C24 at full price, I am done with Capture One!

Un mes es mucho tiempo de espera para poder para ver compatible los archivos raw. Decepción.

When will a7cii be supported? It’s very needed.
If it is not possible, consider switching to lrc.

Sony has an Alpha event this week. maybe, hopefully, they've been waiting to bundle support for all the new cameras together? kind of crazy if lack of support continues for another week.

Is there anyone from CaptureOne here that can throw a little bit of light onto this quite annoying subject please, CaptureOne Pro ?

I’m also really surprised, that the A7C II is not supported yet by C1! Just decided to move on with C1, but this is a draw back… C1 Team please let us know, when our new lovely small cameras will be supported by your product! Thanks!

    Hello all,

there is a work-around. Use Exif Pilot (+/- 14 € on Mac) or Exif editor or an alternative to change the camera name to "SONY ILCE-7M4" and it will work flawlessly. Evidence this camera support is a total bulls**t, a trick to make us pay an expensive upcoming update.

If this trick stops working following an update --> Good Bye Capture One.

The saddest part here is the lack of communication from C1 team. Their silence is deafening.

Sale la versión 16.3.1 y es increíble que aún no tiene soporte la cámara Sony a7CII. ¿¿Mes y medio después, hasta cuando??

It is very clear that C1 does not want to provide free support for this camera. It wants to make money from supporting the camera. C1 is very greedy,

Mohamed albassam - you have probably seen that in today's new release 16.3.1 (free to those who already have 16.3) support for two new cameras has been added. Not the a7C II yet, unfortunately for those who are eagerly waiting for that, but it is obviously not true that they  are unwilling to add camera support without making more money from it. It also says "In the works" at the top of this thread, from which I deduce that they are working on it. They actually do extensive testing on the camera and build their own profile for it, so if it is not yet included in this release, I think it is safe to assume that that testing work has not yet been completed.

I very much regret that I invested in so many presets compatible with Capture One, and if I could go back in time I would not pay a single dollar to a company that does not respect its customers.

There is no application in the world that you have to buy 3-4 times in one year in order to get support or a missing feature, while in Capture One you have to pay 3-4 times or you are forced to subscribe annually.

Policies are changing and lack clarity, which makes us lose confidence in Capture One

Supporting a camera is not worth all this waiting. The camera has been supported with Adobe for more than a month and you continue to procrastinate.

Mohamed albassam - I don't speak for Capture One. I'm just a customer like you, despite the Moderator badge. So saying "you continue to procrastinate" to me helps nobody.

I do not mean that my words are directed to you personally, but rather to the company as a legal entity, represented by every official in it.

Please ask the app developers when the camera will be supported. I have been stuck with JPG files for 3 months. Please let us know if it will be delayed so we can move to any other app.

The company has the right to make the money it wants, as it is running after money and this is its new policy, but I think that we as users have the right to know when the camera will be supported. In order to determine the fate of the application remaining on our devices or moving to a more respectable company than this company

You may be interested in the response from product manager Christian G on a thread about another Sony camera. I imagine the same problem arises. They need an actual camera to test and build the profile, but they can't get one from Sony at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they could get one if they really wanted. BandH has em in stock and the files themselves are perfectly workable within the program by just changing the exif data to say they're from another camera. If they're waiting for a free one from Sony then they're being extra cheap and screwing their customers even more than I thought

I don’t think that’s a valid argument..The a7c is not in limited supply like the Fuji x100 v for example. How was Lightroom able to support it so quickly. The new subscription model and fee was rolled out to provide quicker updates and that is yet to be seen.

This excuse is very weak, and I hope it is not true. Is Sony a partner with C1 in order to provide you with a copy of the camera for free, and do you have a copy of every supported camera? This is ridiculous if C1 will be the largest camera exhibition in the world

I want our voice to reach those concerned in C1. It seems that they live in another parallel world. We are all asking when the camera will be supported so that I can make a decision whether to keep C1 or throw it in the trash.

What you say is true, and it is my wrong decision, in rushing to buy the camera, and I also believe that I did not direct my words to you, nor did I ask for your advice, nor did anyone ask you to respond on his behalf.

Mohamed albassam - actually I am grateful that SFA chipped in to the discussion, as I might not have seen your comment from an hour ago for some time, and you would not have had the clarification. He is a long time user of the software too, and knows what he is talking about.

I confirm that although I am a Moderator, I am just a user of the software, not a member of Capture One staff.

Whether Capture One still has currently a copy of every supported camera, I can't say. But I do know that they always get hold of an actual camera to test, so that they can build their own profile for it. I don't know whether they keep them all afterwards!

Clearly it is in the interests of all of Capture One, Sony itself, and Capture One customers, for them to provide support as soon as they are able to. I can't think that there is any reason for them to deliberately drag their feet about it.

Let us not forget the competitors have already provided support. So perhaps the folks at other firms are just magic and able to provide support for a camera they don’t have and can’t test. Seems unlikely right? Sorry but I am not buying all this nonsense. Capture One is failing…period. No excuse or “poor John” rationalization is going to alter that. Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining. I mean really! Give me a break and all my money back!!!

What makes you think that Capture One are not aware of this thread considering that it says In The Works at the top? And if you want a comment from the manufacturers, you could always ask Sony yourself. Or did you mean a comment from Capture One? I've already linked to the comment from the product manager about the other Sony camera that people are still waiting for.

was meant to read: manufacturers of the software.

I just find it a little hard to comprehend that something like this could take 3 months+ and the 'opposition' has implementation since day 1.. sounds a little like 'SomeOne' is sitting on theirs hands.. Between the 2 posts this is a lot of users waiting, hope they don't lose out on those subscription $$..! I'm definitely reconsidering my options..
