C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\CaptureOne

macOS Instructions
- Deactivate Capture One
If activated, deactivate Capture One to free-up the seat/activation. This can be done inside the application (Capture One -> License... -> Deactivate) or from your profile page at captureone.com
See Deactivate Capture One for details.
- Make sure the application is not running
If you're not able to close the app, press Command+Option+Escape on your keyboard, select Capture One and click Force Quit.
Alternatively, restart your computer.
- Delete the application file
Drag the Capture One.app file from your Applications folder to the Trash.
- Delete the default documents (sessions/catalog) if you no longer need them
The default document location is your User's Pictures folder.
- Reset the application preferences
Go to the Preferences folder located in: /Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Preferences
You can access this by going to Finder > Go > Hold down the Option key > Library
Delete the following files if they exist:
com.captureone.captureone14.plist
com.captureone.captureone15.plist
com.captureone.captureone16.cullingState.plist
com.captureone.captureone16.plist
Sometimes it's not possible to permanently delete the preference file, as there is a daemon running in the background, which maintains a cache of all those .plist files, called “cfprefsd”.
Copy and paste the following commands to the Terminal and hit return after each line. Capture One must be closed when you do this. You will have to wait several seconds for the command to take effect. You can access terminal via Spotlight search or manually by navigating to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal.app
The commands are case-sensitive. The preferences are specific to the corresponding version of Capture One. Thus, you only need to enter the commands for the particular version of Capture One you have:
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone7
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone8
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone9
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone10
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone11
defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone12
defaults delete com.captureone.captureone13
defaults delete com.captureone.captureone14
defaults delete com.captureone.captureone15
defaults delete com.captureone.captureone16
NOTE: .captureone13 is Capture One 20 and .captureone15 is Capture One 22.
- Delete the Application Support data
Follow the instructions in the previous step and navigate to "Application Support" instead of "Preferences" – the path is: /Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Capture One
You can access this by going to Finder > Go > Hold down the Option key > Library
If you plan to reinstall Capture One, only delete the Batch Queue folder at
~/Library/Application Support/Capture One/
If you do not plan to reinstall Capture One, delete the entire Capture One directory at
~/Library/Application Support/
NOTE: If you do not see the Application Support folder, it is likely that you are in the System Library and not in the User Library.
- Delete the ImageCore and CaptureCore cache
Delete the Capture One folder located in the Shared folder by navigating to
Macintosh HD/Users/Shared/Capture One
