Capture One’s Enhanced Image Package (EIP) option offers a secure, reliable, and non-destructive method of keeping the original RAW file together with any adjustments, metadata, and relevant IIC and LCC profiles in one convenient container. This makes the EIP format a highly desirable option when sharing files between colleagues and clients, or when you need to simply move files between your laptop and workstation when back in the office.
All RAW files from officially supported cameras can be packed as EIP files and you can even set up Capture One to pack RAW files as EIPs when working with a tethered camera. Please note that DNGs, JPEG and TIFF files cannot be packed as EIP.
Not only the EIP file is treated like any other RAW file when working in Capture One, but even after you have shared it with someone, it will be seen exactly as you created it and the RAW file is available for further adjustment and output to a final format like any other.
Any adjustments applied to an image are forward compatible but not backwards.
An image with adjustments made in Capture One 21 can be upgraded to Capture One 22.
If you share an EIP file adjusted in Capture One 22 with someone running Capture One 21, they won't see the adjustments you applied.
It is recommended that you run the same version of the software.

EIP's are not backwards compatible within Capture One, correct?
Thank you
Hi Trenton,
Settings files can be upgraded, but they are not backward compatible (and EIP contains the settings files).
I hope that someday tiff files can be exported as EIPs.
