Version control tab

The Version control tab allows administrators to align and control which versions of Capture One are used across the organisation.

User settings

User settings include two main controls:

• Version limit
• Update delivery

The Version limit sets the maximum version of Capture One that users can activate. Versions marked as Breaking Changes indicate that older versions cannot read edits or settings created in that version. 

Update delivery defines how new versions are delivered to users. Updates can be disabled, users can be notified when updates are available, or, on macOS, installed automatically. For updates to be installed on a user’s computer, the user must have permission to access the installation directory.

After adjusting settings, click Save changes to apply them.

User exceptions

Set user exceptions allow selected users to activate any version of Capture One and manage their own update preferences.

Simply enter emails to add them to the User exceptions list or pick them from the dropdown menu.

The users can later be removed from the list with Remove User button.

Version distribution

The Version distribution pane shows which Capture One versions are currently used across all devices using your license.

You can select a version to view detailed information, including:

• Device
• User email
• Operating system
• Last used date

Update indicators

If a version limit is set and a new version of Capture One is released, an Update available badge appears on the Version control tab. A version control update banner is also displayed.

Both the badge and the banner remain visible until the version limit is updated to include the latest version or the version limit is removed by selecting the No limit set option.
 

Email notifications

Email notifications allow you to send an email to users when new versions of Capture One are released.
